SECTOR 7G

is a visual art team headquartered in Berlin. We are inspired by the psychedelic art of the 1960s and 80s and 90s video art, which we re-interpret in relation to modern techniques and music.

It is the art of combining colors, shapes and movement. Space and time. We use all-analogue techniques, so our live performances are unique and unrepeatable. Our projections interact and are influenced by the environment.

Light shows can be a synesthetic complement to music and dance performances, or can have an independent existence as a silent art.

We work with old-fashioned projectors, overhead projectors, liquid light, video feedback, slides, film loops and lumia art.

We can provide our light shows for concerts, art performances (theatre, dance, music) videoclips, art exhibitions, parties, festivals and more!

Meet the team

The Team

We are a multidisciplinary team with varied skills: music, architecture, stage lighting and sound, filmmaking, photography, graphic design, programming, electronics, and more. We work as a true collective, with creative input from each member of the crew.

Alejandro Rubio

Alejandro Rubio

Tech all rounder, mixers, logistics and good vibes.

Alex is skilled in many areas, from building stuff to operating mixers, he is the best guarantee for a smooth show thanks to his attention to detail. He is also a drummer, which infuses our shows with a strong sense of rhythm and timing.

Ana Paula Ibañez

Ana Paula Ibañez

Analog Expert & Space Designer

Ana specializes in analog projectors. She has perfected the formulas for oil-based inks and heat slides. She also uses her skills as an architect for stage design. Photography, graphic design and video editing are also part of her regular work.

Brenda Hanna

Brenda Hanna

Filmography, videoclip director, digital effect improviser

Brenda is our filmmaker, directing our video projects and doing the camera work, as well as editing and post-production. She is also the main person in charge of operating the digital effects during our live shows and doing complex video mapping setups.

Ernesto Mendez III

Ernesto Mendez III

Musical-visual concepts and Prado slide projector

Ernesto is a musician and a lover and conoisseur of rock. Before each performance, he investigates each band to create a unique visual concept for each one. He also very skillfully uses the Prado slide projector. While not performing, his charisma makes him the group’s natural public relations manager.

Juan Carrano

Juan Carrano

Engineering, design, gear mods and video patching.

Juan is the group’s “mad scientist”. He is obsessed with video feedback and video electronics. Equipment repairs, “unauthorized” modifications, custom sofware and the technical planning of the shows are his responsibility. He enjoys trying out new ways of wiring things up.

Lautaro Tinchó

Lautaro Tinchó

General Director, booking, production and visual wizardry

How can we do 100+ shows a year? Or two festivals simultaneously? Lautaro is the answer. A tireless worker, he is also a sound and lighting technician, and a musician too. During the performances, he enjoys operating the cameras and the video mixer as well as having an awesome technique for “squish” plates. He is constantly researching the art form and coming up with new ideas.
